region locked dedicated servers! i'm in the EU, i dont want to play against americans, aussies, kiwis, asians or anyone else that lives thousands of miles away because of the lag....no matter what connection tey are on or the server is being hosted on, the distances involved will create lag/latency problems.
now watch the droids all start disagreeing because the psnzzz roxzz and no one lags or bounces in the games.
the first one was decent, had great graphics and a solid on-line.
but now the second one is shaping up to blow the first one away. 4-player co-op sounds amazing aswell. i would hope owners of both systems are looking forward to it. it's quite clear now that capcom have the beat multi-platorm engine around. just look at the trailer and other released shots..

yes the game looks incredible. and by the looks of it, that was 4-player co-op. i'm really looking forward to this game. the first was ok from a campaign perspective, but the on-line was awesome...and i thought it was graphically superior to gears back then.

this gen for a time, was nearly in danger of becomming remembered for the generation of the unreal3 engine. lots of lazy devs have used this instead of investing time and money into their own engines. i just hope epic make something more notable next time....especially from the obscene amount of royaltie payments they have recieved from all the studios that have used it.
it's already reached it's pinnacle for the current hardware configurations imo, and i would like to see it b...
without many first party studios, it's gonna be difficult to acquire/develop newer, more punishing game engines. although rare's engine for banjo kazooie is truly gorgeous, it's not gonna make a decent fps, and was shamefully wasted when rare decided on silly make-a-go-kart game.
anyway, although not many third party devs are gonna invest in super game engines. capcoms MT framework engine has just stepped into the spot-light. watch the new lost planet 2 trailer to view the best...
that thing is way past it's best. gears2 will be all the best that engine can do. the unreal3 engine is nothing compared to the kz2 engine. capcoms MT framework engine crushes the unreal engine aswell.
but, let's be honest now, the unreal engine is already over FOUR years old. it cant really be compared to kz2s, or other newer more moden engines.
after looking at the lost planet trailer, imo capcom now have the second prettiest game engine in the business. i thou...

why am i not surprised to see you here leaping to the defense of anything sony? by the way, i think the unreal3 engine is maxed without doubt on consoles. gears2 was the pinnacle of that engine with the currnt hardware configurations. there's hardly anything that can be squeezed form the unreal engine now. newer game engines are gonna start to destroy it.
and in all honesty, i thought lost planet outshone gears back then. very very beautiful was lost planet imo.

i thought the first lost planet game engine was stunning graphically, and yep better than gears.
nice. with over 1mil in sales on the 360 alone, it was obvious a sequel would follow. i'm sure this will be available on both ps3/360.
although the campaign wasn't the best, the multi-player was great and i liked it alot. also, i thought capcom crafted a very beautiful game engine, and the game was seriously under-rated graphically. and will look even better after some more optimisation.
i've not checked out the trailer yet.
hopefully they'll throw in some...

the guy on the trailer confirmed it as in-game. also, watch the trailer, and when they get out of the boat, you can clearly see they are playing it!
also, the bit when they are fighting the monster, one player grapples up...all in game. looks great doesn't it?!
